As my four daughters continue to get older, and my friends' children do the same, I find myself attending more and more baby showers! I was sick and tired of giving the customary bath set or stuffed animal, so I decided to MAKE a few unique baby gifts: silky soft, furry blankets. The ladies at the baby showers loved the baby security blankets and asked if I would make some for them! Their friends saw these unique baby shower gifts and wanted more. Trendy animal prints, classic argyle, polka dots, stripes, camouflage, bright solids... I quickly realized that the creative possibilities for these blankets were endless! I made forty baby blankets that month and I just gave them away.

The following month and 30 blankets later I had an epiphany! Why not make these creative baby gifts into a small business? I love working with my hands, so making these precious blankets was a lot of fun. The work began! I created three design lines; Noah's Ark, Sweet Dreams, and Furry & Fun Solids. After deciding on a business name, finding a logo, getting the proper trademark authorizations, opening bank accounts, building a website, getting a terrific business coach through Prosper Learning, purchasing fabrics and hiring employees, and hiring Matt Clayton Photography (whew!); BIP Enterprises, LLC dba My Best Furry Friend was born.

I have found that EVERYONE, children and adults alike, love the silky softness of the blankets. I've noticed that giving them as bridal shower gifts are just as appreciated and get just as much attention and adoration from the "older crowd". For that reason, I am now offering a variety of sizes to fit the recipient. This alone has dramatically increased my customer base! I have corporate customers ordering for their employees and clients who have had new babies. College students are using "My Best Furry Friend" blankets for their afternoon naps between classes or as blankets to snuggle in while watching TV and movies.

As a wife, mom, and grandmother of eleven, this new enterprise has already brought my loved ones and me so much happiness and I would love to share a little of that with you! Welcome to my world of bringing warm snuggles to you and yours.
